Barbara Unzen

Barbara lives with her husband, their two teenage kids (who are growing up much faster than she’s ready for!), and their fluffy dog Maggie. Her family is the source of inspiration for her scrapbook pages and they are the reason she spends so much time preserving and documenting her family’s memories. Of course she also scraps just because it’s so much fun to play in Photoshop!

Barbara has always been a photography buff and has TONS of pictures, scrapbooks (at last count 47 scrapbooks), and external hard drives to prove it. She’s got a camera at the ready at all times (whether it’s her iPhone or her Nikon D90). Thankfully, her family is always willing to smile for the camera. (OK, let’s be honest, her kids are teenagers so sometimes they get annoyed with her and her camera, but they usually give in and let her snap a photo anyway!)

Barbara started paper scrapping about 12 years ago. She was reluctant at first; she was sure there was no way she could scrap with as many photos as she had. Her friends had to work pretty hard to talk her into giving it a try. Her first scrapping experience was at an Archivers crop. She was immediately hooked, and as they say … the rest is history! About 8 years ago she started dabbling in Photoshop Elements (she now scraps with Photoshop CS6). Digi scrapping was still in its infancy back then and it took time to teach herself the program, but she absolutely loved it. She quickly gave up paper scrapping and went all digi because she loved the ease of digi scrapping and all the things the computer allowed her to do with her photos and pages! (NOTE: even though she’s all digi, she still can’t part with her paper supplies. She may need an intervention some day!)

Now that digi scrapping has become so popular, she’s become a bit of a digi scrapping class junkie. She loves trying out and learning new tips and tricks! That’s why Scrapaneers is such a great place for her to hang out!

Barbara is currently on creative teams for Pixels & Co., Mye De Leon and Splendid Fiins.
