Greetings! Jen Flaherty here with this month’s Pick of the Month – The Instant Pot. Have you heard of it? The Instant Pot is a modern day pressure cooker. What makes it modern, you ask? The Instant Pot does it all from cooking perfect rice to soups and stews, meats, bread (yes, bread!), yogurt…the list goes on. And it cooks it all in an instant, thus the name. In addition, the Instant Pot has a slow cooker mode as well, so you can kiss your slow cooker goodbye (or shove it to the back of the cabinet). This purchase has been a game changer for me. Let me tell you why.
Being an engineer that means I’m kind of a science geek. My kids would attest to this. They’ve grown up with my dragging them to see a lock and dam system in action, putting up with my rock collecting on every vacation and repeatedly calling them to observe the wildlife right in our own backyard. I’ve recently discovered SciStarter, a place for actively participating in citizen science projects all over the place.
How to improve your drawing ?
That’s a question I have all the time. I became very interested in drawing 2 years ago and did many online classes but mostly they were to draw whimsical faces and or girls, but recently following some artists that draw faces I’ve noticed they started going to museums for sessions of gesture drawing.
Usually art places do that for a minor fee they have a live model and people have specific time window to draw each pose. This system helps you to forget about perfection as you have a short time to draw. It’s more about perception of shapes than realistic drawing.
Hello there! Can you believe tomorrow is October? September just flew by! By now we should all be settled into our back to school routines and preparing for the upcoming holidays. Speaking of holidays, this month’s Pick of the Month is a fantastic little app called Operator and it will help you with all of your holiday shopping needs.
I’m taking a chance here and admitting that I love books even more than I love digi scrapping. My childhood was filled with all sorts of books and my mom instilled in me the wonderful habit of reading before bedtime. I still can’t get into sleep mode without spending time reading–although nowadays I read most my books in an electronic format. To keep my voracious book habit in check I’ve turned to seeking bargains.
Hi there all you Scrapaneers! It’s time for this month’s pick of the month. I’ve struggled over the last few years to get into a consistent workout routine. I thought back to the times when I did workout most consistently to see what helped me to stay motivated. I discovered that it was a couple of things: having a trainer that pushed me to do things I didn’t think I could do and a set plan.
Hi everyone. Happy summer! Can you believe it’s the end of June already? Next week we’ll be celebrating the 4th of July here in the US. As it always does, summer is flying by. Today is the last Monday of the month and that means it’s time for us here at Scrapaneers to share with you our “pick of the month.” I was trying to think about what I wanted to share with you as my pick this month. Then it came to me. Timehop. Have you heard of it? It’s an app I downloaded on my phone ages ago and it’s something I look at pretty much without fail every single day. I love it.
Warning! Warning! Danger, Will Robinson! Don’t say I didn’t warn you. I’m using this warning so you can’t blame me for enabling your buying and adding to your digital scrapbooking stash. But there are so many awesome summery kits out there right now that I just had to share with you my “must buy” summer kit list. Proceed at your own caution.
Can you believe it? It’s the end of April already. Before long it will be settling in to those oh so too hot temperatures here in Arizona, but we carry on. So as the temperatures are heating up, I’m introducing you to a new tool that you may want to download and add to your photo editing tool set. What’s that? Enter Google’s Nik Collection.
