Art of the Apps 3.0 - Kelly Sill

app scrapbooking

Are you a digital scrapbooker looking to document your photos in a mobile environment but with a Photoshop experience? Are you a mobile, app-scrapper looking for a way to do it all in one app–build your page, import photos and digital elements, and edit photos?

This is THE CLASS for you! Apps 3.0 with Kelly Sill will show you how! And it will blow you away!

In Art of the Apps 3.0, we will be focusing on four main apps: Affinity Photo, File Manager Pro, iCloud Drive and AnyFont. We will learn how these apps work together so you can use your LAYERED PSD FILES, along with your favorite digital kits, edit your photos, and install your favorite fonts to create scrapbook pages anywhere you have your iPad with you.

Throughout this workshop, I will be sharing with you tips, tricks, and processes that work for me while using these apps. It doesn’t matter what your skill level or scrapbooking style is, by taking this class, you will come away with a solid understanding of how these apps work together, giving you the confidence you need to explore them even deeper on your own, and develop a workflow that suits your needs.

Frequent Questions

Q. Is Art of the Apps 1.0 and 2.0 required in order to take Art of the Apps 3.0?

A. No it is not. This class differs from the other Art of the Apps Workshops because the main app we will be focusing on (Affinity Photo) is only available for certain iPads and iPad Pros. It is completely taught on the iPad only.

Q. What kind of platform will the class be taught on, Apple or Android?

A. The class will be taught on the iPad Pro. The Affinity Photo App is only available for certain iOS iPads/iPad Pros. However, on Day One, we will be making references to the Mac and PC desktop computer while using iCloud Drive (please note that while there will be links for iCloud Drive for use on a PC, none of the videos will feature a PC computer).

Q. What kind of software/applications do I need?

A. While we will be covering 4 apps in the workshop, the system requirements we mainly want to be concerned with are those for the Affinity Photo App. In order for you to use this app, you must have the following (this is copied directly from the Affinity Photo App description in the App Store):

Requires iOS 10.3 or later. Compatible with iPad Air, iPad Air Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi + Cellular, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi + Cellular, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad (5th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (5th generation), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation), 12.9-inch iPad Pro Wi‑Fi + Cellular (2nd generation), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and 10.5-inch iPad Pro Wi‑Fi + Cellular.

The main apps we will be using in class include:

  • Affinity Photo ($19.99)
  • iCloud Drive (free)
    • If you do not have iCloud Drive already on your iPad, you can download it here: iTunes
    • If you have a Mac computer, iCloud Drive is already installed. If you are on a PC, you can download iCloud Drive for PC here: Apple
  • File Manager Pro ($4.99)
  • AnyFont ($1.99)

Q. Are there any special techniques I should be familiar with?

A. While having some prior knowledge of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements may be helpful to some, Affinity Photo App will have a learning curve for everyone. We will all be starting this journey as beginners!

Q. Is this a live event?

A. Yes and no. All of the videos will be pre-recorded and uploaded daily into the classroom. On the evening of Day Three, I will host a live webinar where I will answer any questions you may have. Instruction on how to submit your questions prior to the live webinar will be given once registered for the workshop. The live webinar will be recorded and uploaded to the classroom for those who may have missed it! (***TIFFANY*** If you can give more explanation about how the webinar works, that would be great!)

Q. How long will I have access to the class?

A. Scrapaneers Workshops you have purchased will be available for the lifetime of the site.
