Pocket Scrapbooking. You’ve heard of it. You’ve seen it in traditional and digital form. You know it has turned the scrapbooking world upside-down. But what is it? What is the philosophy behind it? How do you do it? And you may be asking yourself: Is it for me?
Do these questions sound familiar? If so, then Digital Pocket Style Scrapbooking for Beginneres is just what you need! Join seasoned pocket scrapper Kelly Sill where she will explain it all. Whether you have been documenting your photos in a traditional format for years and looking for a way to simplify your process or just starting out with your memory-keeping journey, Kelly will walk you through everything you need to know about recording your stories and photos in a pocket-style format.
Day One | Class will begin with the philosophy behind the pocket-scrapbooking phenomena. Kelly will share her personal journey with documenting her photos in this format and participants will be asked to reflect on the reasons why pocket-scrapbooking is appealing to them. We will also discuss pocket-lingo–various terms that are used in the pocket-scrapbooking world. Day one of class will conclude with downloading a collection of digital pocket-page templates. We will discuss layers and how to create a double-page spread template from those that are provided.
Day Two | Creating a Title Page. Kelly will explain what at “title page” is an provide suggestions and examples of how to create the opening page of your album. You will receive a collection of First/Last Page cards to download and unzip. You will learn how to clip photos and cards to the placeholders and receive instruction on how to save your files.
Day Three | Creating Your First Double-Page Layout. You will receive the remainder of your class kit to download and unzip! You will use one of the double-page spreads you created on Day One to create your very first pocket-page spread. Kelly will provide guidance as to how to add aesthetically pleasing background papers to your layout and share with you her workflow on how she puts her digital pocket-style pages together.
Day Four | While pocket scrapbooking is meant to keep memory-keeping simple, there may be times when you want to add special embellishment to you pages. Kelly will demonstrate a few advanced digital pocket-scrapping techniques.
Day Five | To print at home or not to print at home? That is the question. Kelly will provide you with the pros and cons of printing at home and share with you a list of online and “big box” store printing options for your pages and books. And finally Kelly will share with you variety of her favorite mobile apps that she uses in conjunction with pocket-style scrapping!

In addition, you will receive a collection of layered, pocket-style digital templates in 12×12 and 6×8 formats plus a large traditional pocket-style digital scrapbook kit complete with weekly or monthly title cards, unlabeled title cards, 3×4 and 4×6 journal cards, 3×4 and 4×6 filler cards, and a collection of twelve 12×12 coordinating digital scrapbook papers.

Q. Is this a live event?
A. No, you’ll receive immediate access to the entire class including kits, videos and handouts upon completing registration! Then you can complete the class at your leisure.
Q. Are there any special techniques I should be familiar with?
A. While this can be considered a class for beginners, this is not an introduction to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Students should already be familiar with these photo-editing programs. Participants should also be familiar with how to download and unzip files.
