I used to ride motorcycles up until about 4 years ago.
Q. Tell us about you and your family.
A. I’m a 56 year old divorced mother of 2, a son aged 29 and a daughter aged 26. I’m also a proud granny to 3 gorgeous kiddies aged between 17 months and 7 years. I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I’m semi-retired and worked as a desktop publisher in the adverting field doing print ads for the wholesale and retail industries. Now I work half day for a friend as a personal assistant. I love camping, spending time with my family and friends and dancing and music.
Q. What program do you use for digital scrapbooking?
A. Photoshop CS5 and Paintshop Pro X5
Q. Why did you join the Scrapaneers team?
A. I love the dynamic of this team. The fact that it’s about learning new skills was a major draw for me. The instructors and peers are so friendly and helpful and the videos are like having your own instructor in your home.
Q. How long have you been scrapbooking (paper and digital)?
A. I’ve been digi scrapping since 2007. I used to make signature tags in PSP9 and on a google search for resources I came across Kim B’s blog. I discovered she was a fellow South African and we became friends and I became a CT member (and I’m still on her CT). I cringe when I think of my first pages as I didn’t know about shadows and all shadows were the same size. Oh those floating papers. I have never done paper scrapping, but I do love altered art and mixed media and spend at least one weekend a month on a project.
Q. What is your favorite layout/project of all time and why?
A. Without a doubt “Truth” – It’s an AJ page I made after an abused friend left her abuser. I was pouring what her situation did to her family and friends onto the page. I think because it was so close to my heart, the whole page just came together without me having to think about placement or anything. Everything just worked first time.
