Now is that time of year where we go for tradition, and bust out those handed down family recipes to make everyone’s favorite meals and treats. For some recipes, we only make them once a year. Those are the ones most of us look forward to and anticipate, as they become more special than the routine dishes and desserts. What better way to share them with others than with your own creative recipe card!
For many of us, the start of a brand new year calls for the start of a brand new scrapbooking project. Or maybe you’ve been looking around on Facebook and wondering what everyone is talking about. I’ve asked some scrappy friends and looked around in some online galleries to find some examples of long-term scrappy projects… just in case you haven’t decided yet. If you are new to scrapbooking and some of the terminology, I thought I would demystify some of the abbreviations out there.
It seems like only yesterday that we were dressing up for Halloween and gorging on candy (okay, so there’s still some candy stashed away), and I know that we haven’t got to Thanksgiving yet … but did you know there’s only about six weeks until Christmas? You just hit the panic button and grabbed a paper bag to breathe into, didn’t you? Sorry about that. In scrapping circles, a project that some of us undertake during the holiday season is something called December Daily. It also goes by other names, like Journal Your Christmas. Think of this as Project Life on steroids – instead of one scrapbook page per week, you attempt to do pages every day, from December 1 to 25, and sometimes even into the New Year, depending on your preference. Up until a few years ago, I never really documented anything about the holidays. Between shopping, wrapping, holiday parties, travel … who has the time? Come to find out, I do!
